Games: How Do You Re-Register the Pokewalker on Pokemon: HeartGold & SoulSilver

If you deleted an old save file of ̶0;Pokemon HeartGold̶1; or ̶0;Pokemon SoulSilver,̶1; you may want to re-register the Pokewalker device so you can sync it with your Nintendo DS game. The Pokewalker is a special pedometer that downloads a Pokemon of your choice, and takes it through a special course as you go about your day. The more you move the Pokewalker, the better secrets you and your favorite Pokemon will uncover. A series of specific button combinations must be input to both game machines, to start the re-registration.

Instructions

  Power up your Nintendo DS with a copy of ̶0;Pokemon SoulSilver̶1; or ̶0;Pokemon HeartGold̶1; inserted.

  Choose the ̶0;Connect to Pokewalker̶1; option on the main menu. This is listed below the option to continue your saved game.

  Press and hold the ̶0;X,̶1; ̶0;L̶1; and the down on the ̶0;D-Pad̶1; buttons on the Nintendo DS console, when the ̶0;Go for a Stroll and Receive a gift̶1; message appears.

  Choose the ̶0;Yes̶1; option, to delete all the saved data from the Pokewalker device. This removes saved data from the previous adventure such as the Pokemon saved to the Pokewalker or collected Watts.

  Erase the Pokewalker̵7;s records to completely sever the pedometer̵7;s link with a saved file of ̶0;Pokemon HeartGold̶1; or ̶0;Pokemon SoulSilver.̶1;

  Restart your ̶0;Pokemon̶1; game on the Nintendo DS, and use the ̶0;Connect to Pokewalker̶1; feature to re-sync the Pokewalker to your new ̶0;Pokemon̶1; title.

  Choose one of the Pokemon saved to your in-game PC, as well as a Route to explore, after picking the ̶0;Save, then go for a stroll̶1; option.

  Hold the Pokewalker and Nintendo DS 2 inches apart, while the machines sync data and register the Pokewalker to your saved ̶0;Pokemon̶1; Nintendo DS game̵7;s file.
