Why Did They Stop Making Super Nintendo Games?

The SNES wasn't abandoned because developers stopped making games—it was market forces:

  • PlayStation Rise (1994): Superior hardware, CD-ROM capacity, broader appeal.
  • Nintendo 64 Focus (1996): Nintendo shifted resources to its new 3D console with analog control.
  • Market Shift: Consumers moved to more powerful, innovative systems.
  • Limited Production: Nintendo deprioritized SNES manufacturing.

Third-party SNES games continued for a few years post-1999, but Nintendo itself moved on. The SNES faded due to industry evolution, not a sudden halt in development.
