How to Erase / Reset Nintendogs (Nintendo DS): Two Methods

Nintendogs saves directly to the **Game Card (cartridge)**, not the DS system memory. There is no in-game "Delete Save" button.

Method 1: New Game (Soft Reset)

1. Launch game.
2. At title screen, select **"New Game"** (or similar prompt).
3. Confirm. This overwrites the existing save slot.

Method 2: System-Level Delete (Hard Reset)

1. Boot DS/DSi/3DS to **System Settings / HOME Menu**.
2. Go to **Data Management → Nintendo DS Software** (or DSiWare/3DS Software depending on model).
3. Select Nintendogs.
4. Choose **Delete / Erase Save Data**.

⚠ Permanent. Irreversible. All progress, pets, items, money gone.

Alternative: Pause Without Deleting

• Sleep Mode: Close lid (DS/DSi/3DS) → Suspends game instantly. Resume later.
• Second Cartridge: Buy a cheap used copy for a fresh start; keep original intact.

No backup method exists without homebrew/flashcart (e.g., GodMode9 on 3DS can dump .sav).
