Club Penguin on Nintendo DS: Game Shut Down (2017)

Club Penguin (Disney) shut down March 30, 2017. The DS game Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force (2008) and Herbert's Revenge (2010) are offline single-player only. No online, no igloo, no membership.

You cannot have a house/igloo on the DS versions – they are story-driven mission games, not the virtual world.

Modern Alternatives (Kids Safe, Social)

• Club Penguin Rewritten / Legacy / New Club Penguin: Private fan servers (PC/Mac). Legal gray area; Disney issues DMCA. Use at own risk.
• Animal Jam (WildWorks): Animal avatars, dens, pets, education. Mobile/PC.
• Roblox: Massive UGC platform. Parental controls essential.
• Rec Room: Social VR/Screen. Junior accounts (13-).
• Toontown Rewritten / Corporate Clash: Fan-run Toontown Online servers.

For the original DS carts: Play the single-player story. They're decent RPGs.
