How to Register Your Nintendo Wii

Registering your Wii with Nintendo is not required, but it provides a benefit: an additional 90 days of warranty. Considering the small amount of effort required to register the Wii, the benefit makes it worthwhile. Nintendo has changed its product-registration process. Your Nintendo Wii can be registered online only by creating a Club Nintendo account. However, creating an account and registering your Wii is free.

Visit the Club Nintendo website (see Resources) to create an account and begin registering your Wii.

    • 4

Check your email. Nintendo sends an activation link to your email address. Click on the link within the body of the email to activate your account and then sign in using your user name and password.

Examine the back of your Nintendo Wii. Here you'll find the product-serial number, which is required for registration. The serial number begins with two letters (usually "TW" or "LU"). Write down the entire serial number.

Type the serial number in the box on your Club Nintendo home screen. The box says "Enter PIN or Serial Number Here." Click "Register" to register your Nintendo Wii.
