Browser Incompatibility
A new update of IMVU can make the website incompatible with your browser. To see if browser incompatibility is the source of the problem, update your browser to the most current version and try again. If that fails, try to log in with another browser. If you still can't access the account, the error likely lies elsewhere.
Hacked Account
If you've shared your avatar name and password with another user, or if you've logged into your account in a public place, you're vulnerable to account hacking. It's also possible that you have spyware installed in your computer without your knowledge. Contact IMVU to change your password and run a sweep on your computer to clean it of malware.
Site Down
IMVU experiences bugs from time to time, especially when the developers introduce changes and new programs. To see if the log-in problem is site-wide, check a website status checker. Enter "imvu.com" and see whether or not the entire site is down. You can also check the IMVU forums and see if other users are experiencing difficulty accessing the site. If so, wait until the site clears itself of the problem.

If you check the IMVU forums and a website status checker, and no one else is having problem accessing the site, the problem may be with your account. Contact IMVU to ask a technician to check your account . You'll notice that if you can't log in to IMVU, you can't access the site's official IMVU help page either. You can use a temporary log-in page to review the help pages or contact IMVU about the problem.
