Best Scary Games on Roblox: Categorized by Horror Style (2024)

Roblox's horror library is vast, community-driven, and constantly updating. Here are the standout titles organized by what kind of fear they deliver.

Jump Scares & High-Intensity Survival

• The Mimic – Chapter-based, Japanese folklore monsters, intense chase sequences, voice acting. Best played with headphones.
• Doors – Hotel/room progression, entity variety (Rush, Seek, Figure, Screech), sound-cue mastery. High replayability.
• Red Mist – Visual distortion, mist mechanics, transformation horror. Striking art direction.
• Alone in the Dark – Realistic graphics (for Roblox), environmental storytelling, sustained tension.
• Rainbow Friends – Chapter 1 & 2. Color-coded monsters, hide-and-seek, puzzle-solving. Very popular with younger players.

Psychological & Atmospheric Horror

• The Asylum – Exploration, document hunting, slow-burn dread, entity encounters. Strong narrative.
• Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion – Deceptive cute aesthetic → escalating horror. 1000 rooms, lore depth.
• Abandoned – Minimalist, sound-design focused, isolation dread. Short but effective.
• The Backrooms – Multiple versions (Backrooms: Remastered, Backrooms: Survival). Liminal spaces, noclip logic, entity avoidance.
• Identity Fraud – Maze + psychological tricks, multiple endings.

Multiplayer Horror (Co-op / Asymmetric)

• Murder Mystery 2 – Social deduction. Innocent / Sheriff / Murderer. High tension, not pure horror.
• The SCP Foundation: Containment Breach – SCP-173, 096, 106, 049. Maze escape, blink mechanic. Faithful to wiki lore.
• Project Lazarus – SCP-based, co-op escape, facility overrun. Tactical, voice chat recommended.
• Dead Silence – Co-op investigation, haunted building, progressive unlocks. Jumpscare-heavy.
• Bear (Alpha) – Asymmetric: 1 bear vs. survivors. Stealth, objectives, proximity voice.
