Playing Pac-Man Online Today: Best Official & Legal Options (Flash Is Dead)

Flash-based Pac-Man games are gone—Adobe killed Flash Player Dec 31, 2020, and browsers blocked it Jan 2021. Most Flash game sites shut down or stripped content. Here are the reliable, legal ways to play Pac-Man online now:

Official Browser Versions (Free, No Download)

• Pac-Man.com (Bandai Namco): HTML5 remake with original maze, touch/keyboard controls, mobile-friendly.
• Google's 30th Anniversary Doodle: Playable logo from 2010. Still works. Includes 2-player Ms. Pac-Man mode (Insert Coin twice).

Official Ports on Modern Platforms

• Arcade Archives: Pac-Man (Switch/PS4/Xbox/PC): Arcade-perfect emulation with save states, scanlines, online leaderboards. ~$7.99.
• Pac-Man Museum+ (Switch/PS4/PC/Xbox): 14 Pac-Man games (original, Ms., Championship Edition, Battle Royale, etc.). ~$19.99.
• Mobile: Pac-Man (Bandai Namco, free w/ ads) on iOS/Android.

Emulation (Legal Only If You Own the ROM)

• MAME (PC): Arcade-perfect. Requires pacman.zip ROM you dumped yourself.
• RetroArch + FBNeo core: Cross-platform, shaders, netplay.
• Browser emulators (JSMAME, etc.): Load your own ROM file locally—no upload.

Avoid

• Unverified "Flash game archive" sites—malware risk.
• ROM download sites—piracy, legal risk, often infected.
• "Pac-Man 256" clones on shady domains.

Stick to Pac-Man.com for instant free play, or buy Arcade Archives for the definitive version. Both are safe, legal, and supported.
