Can You Put Animal Crossing: City Folk on an SD Card for Wii? No

No. Wii games cannot be loaded from an SD card. Animal Crossing: City Folk runs only from the official disc or (formerly) a digital download to internal NAND via the Wii Shop Channel.

Why Not?

• Architecture: Wii's IOS only boots games from disc or internal NAND.
• Encryption: Discs use a proprietary format; SD cards use FAT32.
• Copy Protection: Nintendo's signing prevents unauthorized execution.

Legitimate Options

• Original Disc: Still the standard way to play.
• Wii U (Virtual Console): City Folk was never released on Wii U eShop.
• Wii U Backward Compatibility: Play the Wii disc in a Wii U (100% compatible).

Homebrew Note (Not Endorsed)

Custom firmware (Homebrew Channel, USB Loader GX) can load games from USB/HDD, but this violates Nintendo's ToS and risks brick/ban. Discussing methods is beyond this scope.

Bottom Line: Keep the disc safe. No SD-card solution exists officially.
