How to Play Two-Player Online in Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Modern Warfare II (2022) doesn't have a dedicated "2-player co-op campaign" or "2v2 playlist" at launch. Here's how to play with one friend:

Current Options

• Party Up in Multiplayer: Invite friend → join standard 6v6/10v10/32v32 playlists together. You'll be on the same team.
• Private Match: Custom Games → create lobby → set teams to 2v2 (or 1v1) → invite friend. Supports all maps/modes. No XP/progression.
• DMZ (Extraction Mode): Squad size up to 3. Duo queue works well for coordinated loot runs.
• Warzone 2.0 (Battle Royale): Duos playlist—separate download, free-to-play.
• Spec Ops (Co-op Missions): Not in MWII 2022. Removed at launch; may return in seasonal updates.

Better Co-op Alternatives (If You Want Designed 2-Player)

• MW 2019: Spec Ops (survival + missions), 2-player campaign (splitscreen local only).
• Black Ops Cold War: Zombies (2–4 player), Fireteam: Dirty Bomb (40-player but squad-based).
• Vanguard: Zombies, Champion Hill (arena 2v2/3v3).
• Non-CoD: Deep Rock Galactic (2–4), GTFO (2–4 hardcore), It Takes Two (exactly 2), Portal 2 (co-op campaign).
