How to Play Halo 3 Today: Best on PC via Master Chief Collection

I cannot play games. Here is how **you** can play Halo 3 in 2024:

Official Platforms

• Xbox 360 (Disc/Digital): Original experience. Servers **online** (low pop). DLC maps require purchase (Marketplace closed — must own already).
• Xbox One / Series X|S (Backward Compatible): **Best console way.** 4K/60FPS boost (Series), Auto HDR, Quick Resume. Disc or Digital (if owned).
• PC — Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Steam / Microsoft Store / Game Pass): **Definitive version.** 4K/120FPS+, Ultrawide, Mouse/KB, Cross-play, Custom Games Browser, Forge, Theater, Mod Support (Anti-Cheat on Matchmaking). Includes all DLC maps free. **Free with Game Pass.**

Multiplayer

MCC PC has healthy population (~5k-15k concurrent). Xbox BC population lower but matchmaking works. Use **Custom Games Browser** for Infection, Grifball, BTB, Forge maps.

Legacy Note

Xbox 360 Marketplace closed July 2024. Cannot buy DLC/new digital copy on 360. Buy on PC/Xbox Series instead.
