Recovering "Missing" Downloaded PS3 Games (Not in Download List)

If a purchased PS3 game doesn't appear in your **Download List** on the console, try these recovery steps in order:

1. Check the Web Purchase History (Most Reliable)

Go to PlayStation Store Purchase History on PC/Phone. Sign in.
Filter "All Time". Find the game. Click **"Download to PS3"** (if available) or note the exact name.
On PS3: PlayStation Store → Search exact name → Download.

2. PS3 "Purchased" List (On Console)

PS Store → **Account** (top right) → **Download List** → **Sort by "Purchased"** (not "Date"). Sometimes "Download List" filter hides old items.
Or: PS Store → **Search** → Type first 3 letters → Select from suggestions.

3. Check "Game Data Utility" (Not the Same as Game Install)

Game Column → **Game Data Utility** → Look for the game's icon. This is *patch/DLC/save data*, not the full game. But if it's there, the game *was* installed. Re-download from Store.

4. Content Delisted from Store?

Some games (licensed: Marvel, Cars, PT, Scott Pilgrim, etc.) are **permanently delisted**. If you owned them, they *should* still be in your Purchase History / Download List. If not there, contact Support.
Check delistedgames.com to confirm.

5. Account / Region Mismatch

Did you buy on a **different PSN account**? Check all accounts.
Did you buy on a **different region account** (US vs EU vs JP)? Content is region-locked. Must log in with that region's account to download.

6. Contact PlayStation Support

Live Chat / Phone. Provide: PSN ID, Email, Purchase Date, Order ID (from email receipt), Game Name. They can verify license and force refresh download queue.

7. Hardware Issue?

If *no* downloads work: HDD failing. Backup saves (USB/Cloud) → Format HDD (Settings → System Settings → Format) → Re-download. Or replace HDD (2.5" SATA).

Critical: PS3 Store *purchase* still works (via web/console), but **PSP/Vita/PS3 stores closed for *new* purchases Aug 2021 (reversed for PS3/Vita)**. You can still download *owned* content.
