How to Make a PS Move Controller Light Up (Troubleshooting Guide)

You cannot manually force the light. The RGB LED sphere is controlled exclusively by the PS3/PS4/PS5 console via Bluetooth protocol — it indicates tracking status, player number, and game state.

Normal Light Behavior

• Solid color (Player 1–4): Connected, tracked.
• Flashing: Pairing mode (hold PS + Share / PS button 5 sec).
• Color changes: Game-driven (health, team, Move-specific feedback).
• Off: Disconnected, asleep, or battery dead.

If Light Stays Off (Troubleshooting)

1. Charge 30 min (Mini-USB on Move, Micro-USB on Navigation Controller).
2. Reset: Paperclip in tiny hole on back (near L2) → hold 5 sec.
3. Re-pair: Settings → Accessory Settings → Manage Bluetooth Devices → Register New → Hold PS+Share on Move.
4. Check Camera: PS Eye (PS3) / PS Camera (PS4) / PS5 HD Camera — required for tracking. Clean lens, good lighting (no backlight).

Advanced (Not Recommended)

• MotionInJoy / SCP Toolkit (PC): Can force color via PC driver — unstable, malware history.
• Arduino/Teensy + Bluetooth HID: Custom firmware to drive LED directly — hardware mod, voids everything.
