Hitman HD Trilogy: The Classic Collection Already Exists on PS3/360

A new HD collection for Hitman: Contracts, Silent Assassin, and Blood Money is unlikely—but it already exists under a different name.

Hitman HD Trilogy (2013)

Released on PS3 and Xbox 360. Includes:

• Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
• Hitman: Contracts
• Hitman: Blood Money

Runs at 720p/30fps with trophy/achievement support. Digital versions are delisted (license expiry); physical discs circulate used.

Why No New Remaster?

• Rights Split: IO Interactive owns Hitman (2016+) (World of Assassination trilogy); Square Enix owns the classic trilogy rights.
• Engine Gap: Glacier 1 (classics) → Glacier 2 (WoA) would require a near-total rebuild.
• Niche Demand: Focus is on the modern WoA trilogy (2016–2021).

How to Play the Classics Today

• PC (GOG/Steam): All three sold separately. Blood Money runs great; Contracts/Silent Assassin need community fixes (widescreen, mouse).
• PS3/360: Find a used HD Trilogy disc.
• Emulation (PC): PCSX2 (PS2 versions) / RPCS3 (HD Trilogy) – best visuals (4K, 60fps, widescreen patches).
• PS Now / Xbox Cloud: Not available.

For the classic trilogy, the HD Trilogy disc or PC + mods are your best options.
