Fast Shooting in CoD: WaW (Xbox 360) & Cross-Play Between Wii/PS3/Xbox?

1. Why Players Seem to Shoot "Insanely Fast" in World at War (Xbox 360)

  • Lag Compensation / Interpolation: The server predicts player positions. On your screen, an enemy may appear to fire instantly around a corner because the server reconciled their action earlier than your client rendered it.
  • Weapon Fire Rates: The MP40, PPSh-41, Type 100, and Sten have very high RPM (900–1000+). With Rapid Fire attachment (if using a modded lobby/glitch) or trigger mods (hardware), they empty magazines in ~1.5s.
  • Trigger Mods / Cronus / XIM: Hardware devices (Cronus Zen, XIM Apex, modded controllers) simulate rapid semi-auto fire or reduce trigger pull distance. These are cheating and bannable.
  • Skill (Recoil Control + Pre-aiming): Top players pre-fire common angles, control recoil perfectly, and center speed — looks like "fast shooting" but is just mastery.
  • Host Advantage (Listen Server): In non-dedicated matches, host has 0 ping — shots register instantly.

2. Cross-Play: Wii / PS3 / Xbox 360 in World at War?

Absolutely not. Zero cross-play existed in 2008.

  • Three Separate Ecosystems: Xbox Live (Microsoft), PlayStation Network (Sony), Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (Nintendo — shut down 2014).
  • Different Builds: Wii version (Treyarch/Exakt) = downgraded graphics, fewer players (8 vs 18), different maps, no DLC. PS3/360 versions differed in performance (PS3 often worse).
  • No Cross-Platform Tech: First CoD with cross-play was Modern Warfare (2019).

If you're on 360, you only play with 360. Same for PS3. Wii is offline-only now (Wiimmfi fan server exists for Mario Kart Wii, not CoD).
