The PS2's red laser cannot read the blue-violet pits on a Blu-ray disc. The PS2's firmware has no Blu-ray driver. The disc won't even spin up.
Reverse (PS2 → PS3): Works on launch Fat models (CECHA/B/C/E) via hardware EE+GS. Later models: software emulation (partial) or PS2 Classics (digital only).
