Using Star Power in Guitar Hero III on PS2

"Battle Power" does not exist in the PS2 version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It was an Xbox 360/Wii exclusive feature for the "Battle Mode" multiplayer.

PS2 Version Mechanics

• Star Power: The PS2 equivalent. Fill the meter by hitting glowing notes perfectly (or whammying sustained Star Power notes).
• Activation: Tilt the guitar controller neck upward (or press Select on a DualShock 2).
• Effect: 2x score multiplier, wider timing window, drains meter.

Overdrive (PS2 Exclusive?)

The PS2 version does not have an "Overdrive" mode distinct from Star Power. That description may confuse it with Guitar Hero World Tour (which added "Overdrive" as a renamed Star Power for drums/vocals) or Rock Band's "Overdrive."

Controller Mapping (DualShock 2)

• Green/Red/Yellow/Blue/Orange: Triangle, Circle, R1, R2, R3 (varies by preset).
• Star Power: Select (default) or Tilt (if using a guitar controller with accelerometer).
• Whammy Bar: Right Analog Stick (Up/Down) or L2/R2.
