How to Play Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories on PS3

You cannot play the original PS2 version of Re:Chain of Memories directly on most PS3 models. The game was included in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ (Japan) and later fully remastered in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX.

Your Options on PS3

1. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (PS3 Disc / PSN Digital) — Best Way: Includes the full HD remaster of Re:Chain of Memories (a full 3D remake), KH1 Final Mix, and 358/2 Days (cinematic theater). Available used (~$20) or digitally (~$15).
2. Original PS2 Disc (Backward Compatibility Only): Works only on launch-model PS3s: 60GB/20GB (NTSC) or 60GB (PAL) with hardware Emotion Engine/GS. Later models (80GB software BC, 40GB, Slim, Super Slim) cannot play PS2 discs.
3. PC Emulation (PCSX2): Play the KH 1.5 ReMIX PS3 version or original PS2 Re:CoM ISO on a decent PC. Legal only if you own the disc.

Do not seek the GBA Chain of Memories for PS3—it is incompatible.
