How to Update Credit Card on PlayStation 3 (Via Web/App)

You cannot update payment methods directly on the PS3 console. The PS3 Store UI does not support payment management. You must use a **web browser** or the **PlayStation App** (iOS/Android).

Method 1: Web Browser (Any Device)

1. Go to store.playstation.com and **Sign In**.
2. Click your **Avatar (top right)** → **Payment Management**.
3. **Add New:** Enter new card details (number, expiry, CVV, billing address **exactly as bank statement**).
4. **Set as Default:** Click three dots on new card → "Set as Default."
5. **Remove Old:** Three dots on old card → "Remove." (Keep at least one valid method if you have active subscriptions).

Method 2: PlayStation App (Mobile)

1. Open App → Sign In.
2. Tap **Profile Icon (bottom right)** → **Account Settings** → **Payment Methods**.
3. Same Add/Set Default/Remove flow.

Important Notes

• Changes sync to PS3 **instantly** on next Store visit.
• **Billing Address Match is Critical:** Mismatch = `WC-40383-8` / `WC-40371-5` errors. Use exact format from bank statement.
• **PSN Wallet Alternative:** Buy PSN cards (GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy) → Redeem Codes on PS3 (PlayStation Network → Redeem Codes). No card needed on account.
• **Subscriptions (PS Plus/Now):** Update card **at least 3 days before renewal** to avoid lapse.

Once updated on web/app, your PS3 will use the new card for all future purchases automatically.
