PlayStation Camera (PS4 Eye) Price & Availability in 2024

The PlayStation Camera (v2, "PS4 Eye") was discontinued by Sony in 2020. It is no longer sold new by major retailers.

Used Market Prices (Typical)

• eBay / Mercari / Facebook Marketplace: $25–$55 USD (camera only); $40–$75 with stand/cable.
• GameStop / CEX (UK): ~$35–$50 "Pre-owned."
• Amazon (3rd party): $30–$60.

Compatibility

• PS4 / PS4 Pro / PS4 Slim: Full support (facial recognition, voice chat, VR, streaming).
• PS5: Not compatible. PS5 uses the HD Camera (dual 1080p lenses, $59 MSRP) for streaming. PSVR on PS5 requires the PS Camera + free adapter (request via Sony support with PSVR serial).

Alternatives for PS4 Streaming

• Any USB UVC webcam (Logitech C920, Razer Kiyo) works for broadcasting (Twitch/YouTube) via PS4's "Broadcast" feature—but not for facial recognition, VR, or PlayRoom.

If you need VR: Buy a used PS Camera + PSVR headset bundle (~$150–$250 used). For PS5, get PSVR2 ($549) or PSVR1 + adapter.
