Registering a Fishing Pole to a PS3

The PlayStation 3 gaming console by Sony is home to many different genres of video games, including sports games like "Rapala Pro Bass Fishing," "Pro Angler Moves" and "Rapala: Fishing Frenzy 2009." These games frequently come bundled with a fishing pole peripheral to provide a more realistic gaming experience. Before you can use the fishing pole peripheral, however, you must register the controller with the PlayStation 3 console first. This requires a very quick, basic process.

     Turn on both the PlayStation 3 console and the fishing pole peripheral. The exact location of the "PS" button on your peripheral will vary depending on the manufacturer.

     Attach the peripheral to the console using the USB cable it came with. The cable attaches to the console's front side.

     Hold the "PS" button on your peripheral for three seconds to initiate the registration.

     Press the "PS" button once more to turn on the controller again.
