Devil May Cry 3 PS2 Save Compatibility with Special Edition

No, PS2 Devil May Cry 3 saves do not work with the Special Edition.

Why They're Incompatible

• Special Edition is a remaster with updated engine, graphics, and physics
• New gameplay mechanics (style switching, turbo mode)
• Additional playable character (Vergil)
• Revised difficulty balancing and enemy placement
• Different save file structure and data format

What This Means

You must start a new game in the Special Edition. The PS2 original and Special Edition are effectively different games sharing core content.

Note: The HD Collection (PS3/360/PC) also does not support PS2 saves.
