No adapter exists. The N64 lacks the SNES coprocessors (Super FX, SA-1, DSP, Cx4) used by many carts.

How to Play SNES Games Today

  1. Original hardware: SNES / Super Famicom + flashcart (FXPAK Pro / SD2SNES Pro — plays all chips, save states) or original carts.
  2. SNES Classic Edition (2017): 21 games built-in. Hackable (Hakchi2 CE) → add 300+ ROMs. HDMI out. $100–$150 used.
  3. Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack: Official SNES app (40+ games). Save states, rewind, online co-op. Requires subscription.
  4. PC / mobile emulation: bsnes / higan (cycle-accurate), Snes9x (fast, accurate), RetroArch (all cores). Legal: dump own carts.
  5. Retro handhelds: Analogue Pocket (FPGA, 100% accuracy, SNES adapter), Miyoo Mini Plus, RG35XX, Steam deck (RetroArch).

Recommendation: SNES Classic (hacked) or Analogue Pocket for authentic feel. Switch Online for convenience. PC for max features.
