How Do I Register Half-Life 1 on Steam?

Valve allows Steam users to register "Half-Life 1" and other Valve games on Steam. If you have a copy of the original "Half-Life" game, you can use the game's CD key to register the game and associate it with your Steam account. After registering it, you can download "Half-LIfe 1" and associated games such as "Counter-Strike" from within the Steam program on your computer. Each CD key can only be associated with a single Steam account.

  Open the Steam program on your computer, and sign in with your user name and password.

  Click the "Games" menu at the top of the Steam window, and select "Activate a Product on Steam."

  Click the "Next" button in the Product Activation window to continue, and click "I Agree" to accept the Steam subscriber agreement.

  Type the "Half-Life 1" CD key, including the "-" symbols, from your "Half-Life 1" CD case into the box in the Product Activation window, and click "Next."

  Click the "Finish" button.
