How to Watch Replays in League of Legends (2024 Guide)

1. In-Game Replay System (Best for Recent Matches)

  • During Match: Press Alt+R → Mini-replay window (last 30 sec). Rewind/Fast-forward.
  • Post-Match: End-of-game screen → "Watch Replay" → Full viewer with:
    • Free camera (drag middle-mouse / right-stick)
    • Player perspectives (F1–F10 / D-pad)
    • Speed controls (0.25x–4x, pause, timeline scrub)
    • Highlight creator (mark clips → export .webm)
    • Timeline with events (kills, towers, dragons, purchases)

2. League Client — Match History

  • Profile → Match History → Any match from last ~20 games → "Watch Replay" (downloads .rofl file)
  • Older Matches: Settings (gear) → "Archive Replays" ON → Replays saved locally indefinitely (default: 30 days)
  • .rofl files stored in: C:\Users\[User]\Documents\League of Legends\Replays\ (Windows)

3. Third-Party Tools (Advanced Analysis)

  • OP.GG / Porofessor / Blitz.gg / Mobalytics: Auto-download replays, heatmaps, damage graphs, CS diff, vision stats, build optimization
  • League of Legends Replay Finder (lolreplayfinder.com): Search by summoner, match ID, champion, patch
  • Replay Manager (GitHub): Batch rename, organize, convert .rofl to .mp4 (requires rofl2mp4 tool)

Important Limitations

  • Replays are version-locked — only playable on exact patch recorded. Major patches break old .rofl files.
  • Custom games / Co-op vs AI / Tutorials: No replay support
  • Privacy: Settings → "Allow Replay Recording" / "Make Replays Public" toggles

Pro Tips

  • Bind "Toggle Replay UI" in Hotkeys for quick access
  • Use "Key Moments" (diamond icons on timeline) to jump to teamfights/objectives
  • Export highlights for YouTube/TikTok/coaching — no OBS needed
