Spore Cheat Codes Not Working — Troubleshooting Guide

Spore cheats require specific conditions. Most common failure: Galactic Adventures / Creepy & Cute expansions disable cheats by default.

Fix: Re-enable Cheats (Steam / Origin / Disc)

1. Navigate to Spore install folder:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\SPORE (or SPORE_EP1 for GA)
2. Open Spore.ini in Notepad
3. Find: EnableCheats=0
4. Change to: EnableCheats=1
5. Save file, restart game

Entering Cheats

1. In-game, press ~ (tilde / backtick) to open console
2. Type code exactly (case-sensitive)
3. Press Enter — confirmation message appears

Common Codes

• moreMoney — +1,000,000 DNA
• freedom — Unlock all editors
• setConsequenceTrait — Force archetype
• addDNA — Space stage currency

Other Fixes

• Patch to v1.05/v1.06 (latest official)
• Verify game files (Steam/Origin/EA App)
• Reinstall if .ini missing/corrupt
• No mods — Some conflict with console

Expansion installs often reset EnableCheats=0. Re-edit after any patch/DLC install.
