Does The Sims 3 Money Cheat ("motherlode") Give Viruses?

No. The cheat motherlode (adds §50,000) is built into the game by Maxis/EA. It contains zero executable code—it simply modifies a save-variable.

Why Cheats Are Safe

• Activated via in-game console (Ctrl+Shift+C).
• No external downloads, scripts, or memory injection.
• Used by millions since 2009 with zero malware incidents.

Actual Risks to Avoid

• Third-party "mod" sites offering .exe installers—these can bundle malware.
• Custom content (.package files) from untrusted creators—scan with VirusTotal.
• Trainers/cheat engines for other games—often flagged by AV heuristics.

Stick to the official console cheats (motherlode, kaching, testingcheatsenabled true) and you're 100% safe.
