Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour: Forbidden Card Limit & Action Replay — Not Recommended

Using Action Replay codes to bypass the Forbidden/Limited list in Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour (DS) is not recommended for several reasons:

Consequences

  • Save corruption: Cheat engines can destabilize the save file, wiping your progress.
  • Broken duels: The game's AI and scripting expect legal decks; illegal counts trigger soft-locks or crashes.
  • No online play: Nintendo WFC is shut down; local wireless requires identical game states — cheats desync.
  • Diminished experience: Deck-building within constraints is the core skill. Removing limits trivializes strategy.

Better Ways to Build a Strong Deck

  • Learn the meta: Study tournament deck lists from the game's era (2005–2006 Goat Format adjacent).
  • Grind legitimately: Win duels, buy booster packs with DP, trade with friends via local wireless.
  • Use the password machine: Enter codes for specific cards (one per day, requires DP).
  • Exploit game mechanics: The "Scapegoat" + "Metamorphosis" loop, or farming specific duelists for rare drops, are intended strategies.

If you must experiment, back up your save via a flashcart or DS save manager (e.g., Checkpoint on custom firmware) before applying any codes. But the real satisfaction comes from earning that Exodia or Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon the hard way.
