How to Access the Nintendo eShop on Switch, 3DS, Wii U, Wii, PC & Mobile

Nintendo Switch (Primary Current Platform)

• Home Menu: Orange Shopping Bag Icon (eShop) → Select User Profile.
• Settings: System Settings → eShop → Visit Nintendo eShop.
• News Feed: Game news articles often have “View in eShop” links.

Nintendo 3DS / 2DS / New 3DS (Legacy – Store Closed March 27, 2023)

• Home Menu: Red Shopping Bag Icon (Nintendo eShop).
• Status: Cannot purchase new content. Can only re‑download previously purchased software/DLC/themes (via “Redownload” / “Your Downloads”). Add funds? No. Redeem download codes? Yes, codes still work.

Wii U (Legacy – Store Closed March 27, 2023)

• Wii U Menu: Shopping Bag Icon (Nintendo eShop).
• Status: Same as 3DS. No new purchases. Redownload only. Codes redeemable.

Wii (Original – Shop Channel Closed Jan 30, 2019)

• Wii Menu: Wii Shop Channel (Globe/Shopping Bag).
• Status: Fully Dead. Cannot buy, download, or redeem Wii Points. WiiWare/Virtual Console games lost if not downloaded. Homebrew (Wiimmfi, Custom Channels) only path.

PC / Web Browser (All Platforms)

• Website: nintendo.com/store (Redirects to regional store).
• Features: Browse, Purchase (auto‑downloads to “Primary Console”), Manage Account, Redeem Codes, Wishlist, Gift Games.

Mobile App

• Nintendo Switch Online App (iOS/Android): Voice chat, game‑specific services (SplatNet 3, Animal Crossing). No eShop browsing/purchasing.
• Mobile Browser: Visit nintendo.com/store → Works fine for purchases.

Prerequisites
