Flipnote Studio: Not Available on Original Nintendo DS

Flipnote Studio (Flip Notes) is exclusive to the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL. It cannot run on the original Nintendo DS (DS "Phat") or DS Lite.

Why?

• Hardware Requirements: Flipnote Studio requires the DSi's faster CPU (133 MHz vs. 67 MHz), more RAM (16 MB vs. 4 MB), and the built-in cameras for photo import.
• Software Lock: The application is stored on the DSi's internal NAND memory and checks for DSi-specific hardware on launch.

Alternatives for Original DS: Homebrew applications like Colors! or Animanatee offer similar animation/drawing functionality on flashcarts, but they are unofficial.
