Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness – Exit to Menu Requires Reset (No Quit Option)

You cannot return to the main menu without resetting the Nintendo DS. The game has no "Quit to Menu" option.

Correct Procedure

1. Save: At Kangaskhan Rock / Kakuna / any Save Point (or use Sleep Herb in dungeon).
2. Power Off: Hold Power button (DS/DSi) or close lid (sleep) → Power off.
3. Restart: Boot game → Continue → Loads your save at the save point.

Why?

• Design choice: Immersion, tension (permadeath-lite), technical limits (single save slot, no menu state).
• Later entries (Gates to Infinity, Super Mystery Dungeon on 3DS) added "Return to Title Screen".

Tip

Save often. The game is long; dungeons can wipe you. Sleep Herb = quick save mid-dungeon.
