Troubleshooting a Non-Working Nintendo DS

Quick Checks

1. Battery: Charge 2+ hrs (official charger). Swollen? Replace.
2. Power switch: Hold 2 sec (not tap).
3. Game cartridge: Clean contacts (isopropyl 90% + cotton swab). Re-seat firmly.
4. Hinge ribbon cable (DS Lite/DSi): Cracked hinge = torn ribbon = no boot. Common failure.
5. Fuses (F1/F2 on motherboard): Blown by shorted charger → no power. Requires microsoldering.
