Will There Be a Nintendo DS 3000? No – Line Discontinued

Almost certainly never. The DS line ended with the **DSi XL (2009)**. Nintendo moved to:

• Nintendo 3DS (2011) – stereoscopic 3D, new architecture, backward compatible.
• Nintendo Switch (2017) – hybrid, current platform.

Why No DS 3000

• **No market:** 3DS/Switch superseded it; DS hardware maxed out (ARM9/ARM7, 4MB RAM).
• **No developer support:** Last first-party DS game 2013; eShop closed 2017.
• **Naming:** Nintendo uses "Advance," "Lite," "i," "XL," "3DS," "Switch"—no "3000" pattern.

DS Lives On Via

• Homebrew (Twilight Menu++, TWiLight Menu) – plays ROMs, emulators on DSi/3DS.
• Flashcarts (R4, Ace3DS+) – original hardware.
• Collector scene – sealed prices rising.

The "3000" numbering belongs to PSP (PSP-3000). Nintendo doesn't iterate that way.
