Can You Browse the Internet on a Nintendo DSi? Limited—And the 3DS Browser Is Better

Nintendo DSi / DSi XL: Limited.

• DSi Browser: A free DSiWare download (Opera-based). Supports basic HTML/CSS. **No JavaScript, No Flash, No HTML5 video, No modern TLS/SSL** (most HTTPS sites fail). Only works on simple mobile/text sites (e.g., m.wikipedia.org, textise.net).
• DSi Shop: Required internet for purchases (discontinued 2017).
• System Update: Uses internet.
• Pokémon Global Link / Dream World (Gen 5): Used specific game-integrated browser (discontinued).

Nintendo 3DS / 2DS / New 3DS: Has a **much better** NetFront-based browser (supports HTML5, JS, video). Still slow, but usable for wikis, guides, forums.

Recommendation: Use a smartphone, tablet, or PC for the web. The DSi/3DS browser is a novelty/emergency tool only.
