Returning a Used Nintendo DS Game to Nintendo? Not Possible

Nintendo does not accept returns of used games directly from consumers. Their warranty covers manufacturing defects on new, unopened products purchased from authorized retailers within the return window (typically 90 days with receipt).

Your Actual Options

  • Retailer Return Policy: If bought recently (usually 7–30 days), return to the store (GameStop, Target, Walmart, Best Buy) with receipt. Opened software often only exchangeable for same title.
  • Resell Privately (Best Value):
    • eBay / Mercari: Reach national buyers; ship via USPS First Class (~$4–$5).
    • Facebook Marketplace / OfferUp: Local cash, no fees, no shipping.
    • r/GameSale (Reddit): Enthusiast community, PayPal G&S protected.
  • Trade‑In (Lowest Value, Instant):
    • GameStop: Check trade‑in value online first; typically 10–30% of resale price.
    • Local retro shops: Often better rates than chains.
    • Decluttr / BuyBackWorld: Mail‑in, instant quote, lower payout.

Selling Tips

  • Test the cart: Clean contacts with IPA + q‑tip; verify it boots.
  • Photograph: Front label, back pins, cartridge edge, any box/manual inserts.
  • Disclose: Scratches, label peeling, save battery status (if known).
  • Price: Check "Sold" listings on eBay for your exact title/region.
