Do You Need a Manual to Trade Games at EB Games? (No — Policy-Based)

No manual required. EB Games (GameStop AU/NZ/CA/EU) uses a trade-in policy, not a customer manual. The associate scans the barcode/disc, checks condition, and quotes value from their system.

Trade-In Requirements

  • Disc/Cartridge: No deep scratches, cracks, label damage. Light surface scratches OK (resurfaced in-store).
  • Case + Cover Art: Preferred; missing = reduced value (generic case provided).
  • Manual/Inserts: Not required for most games. Exception: Collector's Editions, SteelBooks, games with codes (may need unused code).
  • ID: Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport) — legal requirement for secondhand goods.
  • Age: 18+ (or parent/guardian).

Value Determination

  • Proprietary algorithm: market demand, stock levels, condition, platform, release date.
  • Pro members (paid) get +10–20% trade credit.
  • Credit issued on EB Games trade card / account — usable in-store/online.
  • Cash option: 20–30% less than credit value.

Tips

  • Clean discs (microfiber, radial) before bringing in.
  • Check ebgames.com.au / .co.nz / .ca / .ie "Trade Values" search for estimate.
  • Trade during "Double Trade Credit" / "Trade 3 Get $10 Extra" promos.
  • Bring all cables/controllers for hardware trades.

Policy changes: Check website or call store before visiting.
