Can You Play Counter-Strike Online With Bots? No — But Offline Yes

Online matchmaking (Valve servers) does not support bots. Bots exist only for offline practice / local server.

Why No Online Bots

• Competitive Integrity: Bots would inflate ranks, farm drops, disrupt economy.
• Anti-Cheat: Bot behavior is detectable; allowing them opens door to "humanized" cheat bots.
• Design: CS is 5v5 human vs human. Bots are for training, not replacement.

How to Play With Bots (Offline / Local)

1. CS2 / CS:GO: Main menu → Play → Practice → Casual / Deathmatch / Arms Race → Add Bots (choose count, difficulty: Easy/Hard/Expert).
2. Custom Offline Server: Console (~) → sv_cheats 1; bot_add_ct; bot_add_t; bot_difficulty 3; bot_quota 10. Full control.
3. Community Servers (Online, Human + Bots): Some custom servers (surf, kz, aim_map) add bots via SourceMod plugins. Browse "Community Server Browser" → filter "Bots."

Bot Limitations

• Predictable paths, no utility usage (smokes/flashes), poor economy management.
• Don't teach real game sense — only aim/mechanics.
• CS2 bots improved (use grenades, hold angles) but still exploitable.
