How to Zoom Out on PS3

No system-level zoom exists on PS3. The OS and XMB have fixed UI scaling.

Per-Game Zoom (If Supported)

• FPS/TPS: Click R3 (right stick press) or hold L2/L1 — toggles aim zoom (not world zoom).
• Strategy/RTS: Civilization Revolution, R.U.S.E. — D-pad / right stick zoom map.
• Racing: Gran Turismo 5/6 — change camera view (D-pad down) for wider FOV.
• Browser: PS3 browser (NetFront) — no zoom; text size only (Settings → Display → Text Size).

Workarounds

• Sit Further Back: Physical distance = wider FOV.
• TV Settings: Aspect ratio → "Full Pixel" / "Just Scan" (removes overscan, shows more edges).
• Game Internal Settings: FOV slider (rare on PS3; CoD: MW2 has none).
• Remote Play (PS Vita/PSP/PC): Pinch-zoom on Vita/PC client.

If a specific game feels too "zoomed in," check its Options → Camera / Display menu — some offer "Wide" or "Cinematic" FOV.
