Metal Gear Solid Classics HD on PS3? Unlikely—Here's How to Play Now

No official announcement exists for a new Metal Gear Solid Classics HD release on PS3. Here's why, and what's already playable.

Why a New Release Is Improbable

• PS3 discontinued 2017; publishers rarely greenlight new SKUs for dead platforms.
• Konami's focus shifted to Metal Gear Survive (2018) and Pachinko.
• Existing HD collections already cover the core saga on PS3.

Play MGS on PS3 Today

• Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (2011): MGS2: Sons of Liberty & MGS3: Snake Eater in 720p/60fps. Includes MGS1 as a PS1 Classic download code.
• Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection (2013): Adds MGS4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3 native), MGS: Peace Walker HD, and MGS1 + VR Missions downloads.

Both collections are physical-only (disc), often affordable used. They remain the definitive way to experience the saga on PS3.
