Playing PS2 Games on PS3: Compatibility, Models & Alternatives

Yes, but with limitations:

• Not All Games Compatible: Backward compatibility is incomplete. Check online lists.
• Only "Fat" PS3 Models: CECHA01, CECHB01, CECHC01, etc. Slim (CECH-2xxx) and Super Slim (CECH-4xxx) lack backward compatibility.

How to Play (On Compatible Model)

1. Insert PS2 disc—PS3 recognizes and loads it.
2. Use standard PS3 controller.
3. Expect possible issues: slowdowns, graphical glitches, sound problems.

Alternatives

• Original PS2 Console: Most reliable.
• PC Emulation: PS2 emulators available.
• PS2 Classic: Sony's mini-console with pre-installed games.

Best method depends on your preferences and resources.
