Which PS3 Models Play PS2 Games? Launch "Fat" Models Only (Disc), Others Digital

All PS3 models can play PS2 games, but the method differs:

• Launch “Fat” models (CECHA/B/C/E, 20/60/80 GB): Hardware/software hybrid backward compatibility—play PS2 discs directly.
• Later Fat, all Slim, Super Slim: No disc support. Must buy PS2 Classics from PlayStation Store (digital ports with trophies/upscaling).

Check your model number (bottom sticker). If it’s CECHA/B/C/E, you have disc BC. Otherwise, digital only.
