Best Approach in Choice-Based Games: Stealth/Thinking vs. Guns Blazing

There's **no universal "best"**—the optimal style depends on the game's design, your build, and the moment.

Stealth / Thinking (Ghost / Pacifist)

  • Pros: More XP (Deus Ex, Dishonored), better endings, avoid resource drain, lore discovery.
  • Cons: Slower, trial-and-error, some games penalize (no loot from kills).
  • Shines in: Deus Ex, Dishonored, Hitman, Metal Gear Solid, Thief, Styx.

Guns Blazing (Combat / Lethal)

  • Pros: Faster pace, visceral fun, simpler mechanics, often more loot/XP (Borderlands, Doom).
  • Cons: Resource heavy (ammo, medkits), may lock "good" endings, alarms spawn reinforcements.
  • Shines in: Doom Eternal, Borderlands 3, Far Cry, Wolfenstein, Gears.

Hybrid / Adaptive (Usually Best)

  • Stealth until detected → loud cleanup.
  • Non-lethal takedowns for XP, lethal for bosses.
  • Quick-save / quick-load to experiment (PC).

How to Decide Per Game

  1. Check **skill trees / achievements**—does game reward ghost/pacifist?
  2. Read **difficulty descriptions**—"Survival" often forces stealth.
  3. Experiment first hour—see which feels tighter.
  4. Watch "Should I play stealth or loud in [Game]?" on YouTube.

Playstyle = Self-Expression.** The "right" way is the one you enjoy.
