Zax: The Alien Hunter (PC) - Cheat Codes?

No cheat codes / console commands exist in Zax: The Alien Hunter (2001, Reflexive Entertainment).

Why

• Isometric ARPG (Diablo-like). No developer console exposed.
• No trainer was widely released (GameCopyWorld, CheatHappens have none).
• Single-player only. No anti-cheat, but no cheat interface either.

Legitimate Difficulty Adjustment

1. Difficulty Setting: Options → Gameplay → Easy. Reduces enemy HP/Damage, increases drop rates.
2. Save Scumming: Quick Save (F5) / Quick Load (F9) before every fight/chest.
3. Build Optimization: Max Ranged + Engineering (turret). Kite enemies. Psi (stun/confuse) trivializes bosses.
4. Money Glitch (Not Cheat): Buy items → Sell to different vendor (price variance) → Repeat. Fixed in patches.

Modding / Hex Edit (Advanced)

Save files (savegame.zsv) are uncompressed. Use Hex Editor (HxD) → Search current Gold (Hex) → Edit → Save. Risk: Corruption. Backup first.

Game is short (~10 hrs). Play on Easy + Save Scum = Done.
