Disabling Cheats in GTA: San Andreas

No in-game "disable cheats" toggle exists. Once entered, cheats persist until:

Methods to Clear Cheat Effects

1. Restart Game: Reload a clean save (cheats don't persist across loads)
2. Load Pre-Cheat Save: Revert to save file from before cheat entry
3. Counter-Cheats: Some effects reversible (e.g., "Suicide" cheat removes weapons)
4. Delete cheats.dat: PC only—removes cheat list but may break script mods
5. New Game: Start fresh without entering codes

Important Warnings

• Cheats can permanently flag save as "cheated" (blocks 100% completion)
• Some cheats (pedestrian riots, traffic changes) persist until new game
• Achievements/trophies disabled on cheated saves (console versions)

Best practice: Use separate save slots for cheat experimentation.
