New DS Lite Games? No—Discontinued 2011, Used Market Only

No new DS Lite games are being produced. The Nintendo DS Lite was discontinued globally in 2011.

What This Means

• Last Physical Releases: 2011 (e.g., Pokémon Black/White, Kirby Mass Attack, Professor Layton 4).
• No Digital Store: DSi Shop (DSi-only) closed 2017. DS Lite cannot access 3DS eShop.
• Used Market Only: eBay, GameStop, local shops, Facebook Marketplace, retro stores.
• Flashcarts (R4, etc.): Load ROMs on SD — legal gray area / often piracy.

If You Want New Games on DS Hardware

• 3DS / 2DS: Plays all DS games + 3DS library. eShop closed 2023, but physical carts abundant.
• Homebrew (DSi/3DS): TWiLight Menu++ runs DS ROMs from SD. Only for games you own.

DS Lite is a retro console. Enjoy its amazing library used—but no new games coming.
