US Nintendo DS Games in Ireland/UK: Region-Free Confirmed

Yes. Standard Nintendo DS / DS Lite / DSi / DSi XL / 3DS game cartridges are region-free.

A US game cartridge plays on a European console in English (or the game's default language).

Exceptions (Region Locked)

• DSi-Exclusive Software (White Cartridge): Games requiring DSi cameras/shop (e.g., System Flaw, Face Training)
• DSiWare / Nintendo eShop (Digital): Account/Console region locked
• 3DS / 3DS XL / 2DS Games: Region Locked. US 3DS game ≠ EU Console

Notes

• Language: Determined by game code; most US games default to English. Some multi-language EU carts offer FR/DE/ES/IT/NL
• Multiplayer: Local Wireless (Download Play) works cross-region. Online (Nintendo WFC) defunct; private servers (Wiimmfi, AltWFC) work cross-region
