Was There a Website Made for the Nintendo DSi Browser? No

No dedicated website ecosystem existed for the DSi Browser. Technical limitations prevented it:

  • Engine: Opera 9.5 / NetFront 3.5 — no JavaScript (ECMAScript 3 partial), no CSS2/3, no DOM manipulation, no AJAX, no Canvas, no WebGL.
  • Screen: 256×192 px (top), 256×192 px (bottom touch). 4:3 aspect. Tiny viewport.
  • Network: 802.11b (1–2 Mbps real-world). TLS 1.0 only (most sites reject).
  • Memory: 16 MB RAM shared. Complex pages OOM crash.

What Nintendo Provided

  • Nintendo Channel: Video trailers, DS Download Station demos (via Wii).
  • DSi Shop: Native app, not browser.
  • Pre-set Bookmarks: Nintendo.com, Google (basic), Weather, News — most broken today.

Community Efforts

Homebrew developers created DSi-optimized portals (static HTML, no JS) for:
• Game databases (DSiDB)
• Text news readers
• IRC/Chat clients (via CGI)
Hosted on GitHub Pages / Neocities. Accessible via TWiLight Menu++ "Web" launcher.

Conclusion: The DSi Browser was a novelty feature, not a platform. No commercial site targeted it.
