How to Play "One in the Chamber" in Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3)

"One in the Chamber" is a multiplayer game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), not a real-life activity. It does not involve real guns or ammunition.

What Is "One in the Chamber"?

  • Mode Type: Free-for-all (FFA) party game mode.
  • Loadout: One pistol (ASP / M1911), one bullet, one throwing knife, three lives.
  • Mechanic: Each kill replenishes your bullet. Miss → you have only knife. Knife kill → bullet back.
  • Win Condition: First to score limit (usually 15–20 kills) or most kills at time limit.

How to Access It in Black Ops (PS3)

  1. Start Call of Duty: Black Ops.
  2. Go to Multiplayer → Play Online (or LAN / Split Screen).
  3. Select Party Games (wrench icon) → One in the Chamber.
  4. Choose map (typically small: Nuketown, Firing Range, Summit, Havana).
  5. Start match.

Tips to Win

  • Accuracy > Speed: One shot = one kill. Don't spam. Pre-aim corners.
  • Knife Mastery: Lunge distance is long. Knife when bullet missed or enemy close.
  • Sound: Headphones essential. Footsteps = free wallhack.
  • Map Knowledge: Learn spawn flips on Nuketown/Firing Range. Control center.
  • Perks (if allowed): Ghost Pro (invisible to UAV), Ninja Pro (silent), Warlord Pro (two attachments — Extended Mags + Dual Mags not on pistol; Sleight of Hand Pro for fast reload).

Variants

  • One in the Chamber (Classic): As above.
  • Gun Game: Kill → better gun. Final: Ballistic Knife / Throwing Knife.
  • Sharpshooter: All players get same random gun, switches every 45s.
  • Sticks and Stones: Crossbow, Ballistic Knife, Tomahawk only.

On PS3 Today (2024)

  • Servers: Official matchmaking still works but population low (~50–200 peak).
  • Best Way: Private Match → Invite friends → Party Games → One in the Chamber.
  • Modded Lobbies: Risk of ban. Avoid.

It's a test of aim, nerves, and knife skill. One bullet. Make it count.
