AFL Games on PlayStation 3: Availability and Alternatives

There was no dedicated AFL (Australian Football League) game released natively for PlayStation 3.

PS2 Titles (Backward Compatibility Check)

Early "Fat" PS3 models (CECHA/B/C/E - Hardware/Software BC) might play these PS2 AFL games:

AFL Premiership 2005 (2005)
AFL Premiership 2006 (2006)
AFL Live 2007 (2007) — Last PS2 AFL game.

Caveat: PS3 BC is imperfect. These often suffer graphical glitches, crashes, or missing saves on Software BC models (80GB/40GB late). Slim/Super Slim have **zero** PS2 BC.

Modern AFL Games (PS4 / PS5 / PC / Xbox)

Title	Platforms	Year	Notes
AFL Evolution	PS4, Xbox One, PC	2018	First modern entry. Janky but licensed.
AFL Evolution 2	PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X\|S, PC	2020	Improved gameplay, women's league, better graphics.
AFL 23	PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X\|S, PC	2023	Current gen. Best graphics/gameplay. Live updates.
AFL 24	PS5, Xbox Series X\|S, PC	2024	Latest. Unreal Engine 5. Cross-play.

Recommendation: If you have a PS4/PS5 or PC, get AFL 23 or AFL 24. If stuck on PS3, only the buggy PS2 titles on a Fat BC model are possible.
