Is There an Original Spyro Game for PS3?

No original Spyro titles were developed for PlayStation 3. The classic trilogy—Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Spyro: Year of the Dragon—launched exclusively on PlayStation 1 (1998–2000).

How to Play Spyro on PS3

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy (2018) brings fully remastered versions of all three PS1 games to PS3 (and PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC). It features:

• Rebuilt assets, 1080p/30fps on PS3.
• Original voice acting (Tom Kenny et al.) with new recordings.
• Quality-of-life improvements: camera controls, skill upgrades, checkpoint system.

If you want the exact PS1 experience on PS3, you can also purchase the PS1 Classics versions from the PlayStation Store (PS3/PSP/Vita only)—they run via emulation with save-state support.
